PIANOLAC®
ULTIMATE HIGH BUILD WOOD COATING
For Pianos, Musical Instruments and High End Furniture

PianoLac is the only waterborne designed expressly for high build wood finishing. Here's how PianoLac® beats out solvent borne technology.

PianoLac BuildsFast. High solids (38%) and fast dry means less spraying.

No Sanding Between Coats. Smooth sprayout, no orange peel and perfect intercoat adhesion eliminate tedious sanding.

Pore Filling Sanding Sealer. Not even PianoLac Cream Pore Filler can fill all the wood pores -unfillable micropores cause pinholes and orange peel.

Sanding Sealer/Barrier Coat/Pore Filler fills micropores. It doesn't raise grain. It sands like a dream after one hour dry time. NO ZINC STEARATE. It's glass clear. That means you can spray as much as you like without that cloudy look. No solvent borne sealer can do this.

Fast Cure-To-Rub. You can wait 3 to 4 months for lacquer to harden enough for a first class rub job. PianoLac cures to rub in 2 to 3 days.

Early Print Resistance. Even thick coats of PianoLac won't take an impression. You can sit on a piano bench the day after spraying and not show seat marks.

Non-Flammable. The savings in fire insurance costs can be significant. You can't put a dollar figure on peace of mind.

Super Low VOC, virtually non-HAPS, No HazMat Shipping Charges. Replacing solvent borne coatings with PianoLac gets the government off your back, saves money and is better for the health of your workers.

Ready to spray right out of the can. Valuable floor space can be used for production, instead of storing volatile thinner.

Water Clean Up - no need to use flammable thinners for cleaning spray equipment.

Okay, so PianoLac® is easier to use, safer and more cost effective than solvent borne lacquer.

What Does It Look Like?

The Clear is truly water clear. It gives the ultimate in DOI (Depth Of Image).

The Black is deep, dark black. No need to spray clear over it. Black PianoLac is the only waterborne black that looks really "jet" (like lacquer), not gray or milky.

The Sanding Sealer/Barrier Coat/Pore Filler remains transparent no matter how much you build up. It won't crack because it is zinc stearate free.

How Does It Rub?

PianoLac sprays out with no orange peel, so you can start wet sanding (using PianoLacRubbing Oil) with #600 paper. It sands quickly, without building up on the paper. It polishes to a luxurious satin or dazzling high gloss fast, and doesn't show swirl marks with machine polishing.

How Durable Is It?

It's almost tough enough to be called a bar top finish. It is hard, flexible, and scratch resistant. It is print resistant 24 hours after dry, and doesn't soften with heat (moving blankets won't stick to it in summer temperatures).

What About Shrinkage?

You'll never have to worry about open grain lines appearing a few months after the last coat is sprayed. The grain is so thoroughly filled, there's no room for shrinkage.

What About Fisheye?

Try this: spray Pledge® furniture polish on a piece of scrap, let it sit for 15 minutes, then wipe off the excess. Spray 4 thin coats of SS/BC/PF without sanding between coats. Wait overnight, sand with #320, then spray a few thin coats of Clear Gloss.

There will be no fisheyes. There has yet to be a reported case of fisheyes with this system.
