PIANOLAC® WATERBASED
RUB EFFECT WOOD LACQUER

PianoLac Rub Effect is designed to make a finish that looks and feels like a rubbed out satin, but without the labor. It has all of the properties of PianoLac Clear Wood Lacquer.

APPLICATION

  1. Sand, fill, stain and seal as per usual.
  2. If you're going for a closed pore finish, close out the pore with the sealer. Do not spray Rub Effect until the pores are completely closed. Sand with #320.
  3. If you're going for an open pore finish, spray 3 thin coats of sealer waiting 1 hour between coats. DO NOT SAND.
  4. Spray one coat of Clear Wood Lacquer.
  5. Wait an hour or two, then sand lightly with #320.
  6. Tack off with a damp cloth (careful to remove all dust particles).
  7. Spray 2 coats of Rub Effect waiting 1 hour between coats.

If there are minute pimples, they can be removed with #1500 paper without disturbing the gloss.

You will have a smooth, waxed-to-the-touch surface that looks like it's been rubbed without all the labor.
